- Question: What applications can a user use for signing up an account on Pleny?
- Answer: To sign up for an account on Pleny, you can use authentication services like Google, Facebook and Apple. These options allow you to create an account quickly and securely.
2. Onboarding
- Question: Does the user need to finish onboarding to use his/her account?
- Answer: Yes, you must complete the onboarding process before you can start using your account on Pleny. This step is essential to personalize your experience.
- Question: What should the user do in the onboarding phase?
- Answer: During onboarding, you need to follow at least 3 brands and 3 foodies (users) based on your interests. This helps tailor your feed to your preferences.
- Question: How many brands should the user follow in the onboarding?
- Answer: In the onboarding stage, you are required to follow at least 3 brands before proceeding.
- Question: How many foodies (users) should the user follow in the onboarding?
- Answer: You must follow at least 3 foodies (users) during onboarding to enhance your experience on Pleny.
3. User Account
- Question: How does the user add/update/change his/her profile media?
- Answer: To update or change your profile media, go to your Profile Page > Tap on the three dots near the Pleny logo > Select Edit Account > Click on the camera icon in your profile section. From there, you can adjust the current media, upload a new photo, or select an image/GIF from your gallery. Profile media must be square in orientation.
- Question: How does the user add/update/change his/her cover media?
- Answer: To change your cover media, go to Profile Page > Tap on three dots > Select Edit Account > Click the camera icon in the cover media section. You can adjust the current media, upload a new image/video, or select one from your gallery. Cover media must be landscape-oriented.
- Question: Can the user add videos to his/her profile media?
- Answer: No, profile media only supports images and GIFs.
- Question: Can the user add GIFs to his/her profile media?
- Answer: Yes, your profile media can contain images and GIFs.
- Question: Can the user add GIFs to his/her cover media?
- Answer: No, cover media only supports images and videos.
- Question: Can the user add videos to his/her cover media?
- Answer: Yes, cover media supports both images and videos.
- Question: Can the user add any type of media (image/GIF/video) in his/her gallery?
- Answer: Yes, your gallery can store images, GIFs, and videos.
- Question: How does the user update/change his/her bio?
- Answer: To update your bio, go to Profile Page > Tap on three dots > Select Edit Account > Click Edit beside the bio section. If you already have a bio, you can also long press on the bio text to edit it. You can enter up to 300 characters, following Pleny's community guidelines.
- Question: How does the user change his/her app appearance to dark/light mode?
- Answer: To change your app appearance, go to Profile Page > Account Settings > Appearance. Here, you can choose between System, Light, or Dark mode.
- Question: How does the user change the language of the app to English/Arabic?
- Answer: To change the language of the app to English or Arabic, go to Profile Page > Account Settings > Language, then select your preferred language. Please restart the app for the changes to take effect.
- Question: How does the user change his/her name/username?
- Answer: To change your first name, last name, or username, go to Profile Page > Edit Account. You can enter a new first and last name (max 20 characters each) and a username (max 50 characters).
- Question: Should the user input his/her birthday and gender?
- Answer: No, birthday and gender are optional fields.
- Question: Can the user become a verified foodie or influencer on Pleny?
- Answer: Absolutely! If you're interested in becoming a verified foodie or influencer, just reach out to us. Our team will review your request and guide you through the approval process.
- Question: Can the user delete or deactivate his/her account?
- Answer: Yes, if you ever feel like you want to delete or deactivate your account, you can do it from the settings. But if you’re having an issue that’s making you think about leaving, we always recommend reaching out to customer support first. We might be able to help you fix the problem and stay with us.
- Question: How can I turn off notifications or change notification settings?
- Answer: You can manage or turn off all notifications directly from your phone’s settings (on both Android and iPhone). Notification preferences are currently controlled through your device, not within the app.
- Question: What file formats are supported for profile pictures on Pleny?
- Answer: Profile pictures support both images (JPG, PNG) and GIF files. The profile media must be square in orientation with a 1:1 aspect ratio.
- Question: What's the maximum file size the user can upload for their profile picture?
- Answer: For profile pictures, images can be up to 10 MB and GIFs can be up to 20 MB in size.
- Question: Why won't the user’s video upload as a profile picture?
- Answer: Profile pictures only support images and GIFs. Videos are not supported for profile media. If you want to use a video, you can add it to your cover media or gallery instead.
- Question: What are the size requirements for cover photos and videos?
- Answer: Cover media must be in landscape orientation with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The minimum size is 160 x 90 pixels and maximum is 2,048 x 1,152 pixels. Images can be up to 10 MB and videos up to 100 MB.
- Question: How long can a cover video be?
- Answer: Cover videos must be between 2 seconds and 5 minutes in duration.
- Question: Can the user upload vertical/portrait videos to their gallery?
- Answer: Yes! Gallery media supports square, portrait, and landscape orientations. Portrait videos can have aspect ratios between 1:3 (minimum) and 1:1 (maximum).
- Question: What's the maximum number of photos/videos the user can add to a single post?
- Answer: You can add up to 20 media files (images, GIFs, or videos) to a single post.
- Question: Why is the user’s image/video too small to upload?
- Answer: All media must meet minimum size requirements. Images and videos need to be at least 90 x 90 pixels, and videos must be at least 50 KB in file size.
- Question: Can the user add media to comments and replies?
- Answer: Yes, you can add one image, GIF, or video to comments and replies. The media supports square, portrait, and landscape orientations.
- Question: What are the requirements for Moments videos?
- Answer: Moments only support videos (no images or GIFs). Videos must be square or portrait orientation, between 2 seconds and 1 minute in duration, and between 50 KB and 100 MB in file size.
- Question: How long can Story videos be?
- Answer: Story videos can be between 2 seconds and 1 minute long. Stories support images, GIFs, and videos in square or portrait orientation.
- Question: Why won't the user’s GIF upload to their cover photo?
- Answer: Cover media only supports images and videos, not GIFs. You can use your GIF as a profile picture or add it to your gallery instead.
- Question: What happens if my media doesn't meet the size requirements?
- Answer: If your media doesn't meet the minimum or maximum dimension, file size, or duration requirements, the upload will fail. Please resize or compress your media to meet the specifications and try again.
4. Activities
- Question: How does the user share a user’s (foodie’s) profile?
- Answer: To share a foodie’s profile, go to their Profile Page > Tap on three dots in the top right corner > Select Share Profile. You can choose from options like Gmail, Mail, or Messages.
- Question: How does the user report a user’s (foodie’s) profile?
- Answer: To report a foodie’s profile, go to their Profile Page > Tap three dots > Select Report > Choose a reason or provide a custom reason (max 300 characters).
- Question: How does the user block a user’s (foodie’s) profile?
- Answer: To block a user, go to their Profile Page > Tap three dots > Select Block User. Once blocked, they will no longer interact with you.
- Question: How does the user like an offer?
- Answer: To like an offer, go to the Offer Page > Tap the Like button below the offer’s name. You can also like it from the action sheet (three dots in the top right corner).
- Question: How does the user share an offer as a post?
- Answer: To share an offer as a post, go to the Offer Page > Tap three dots > Select Share as Post > Optionally, add text before posting.
- Question: Where does the user see users (foodies) who posted about a specific offer?
- Answer: Scroll down on the Offer Page to see users who liked, commented on, or posted about the offer.
- Question: How does the user tag objects in a post?
- Answer: When creating a post, tap "Tag restaurant, meal, or offer" at the bottom > Search and select the item you want to tag.
- Question: How does the user add media in a post?
- Answer: When creating a post, you can add images, GIFs, or videos from your device. You can also select media from a tagged restaurant’s gallery.
- Question: Can the user edit a post after publishing it?
- Answer: Yes, definitely. After you publish a post, you can go back and update anything you need whether it's the body text, the media list (like images, gifs or videos), the tagged brand, tagged product, or tagged offer. We make it flexible so you can easily keep your post updated and accurate whenever you want.
- Question: Can the user mention other users in comments or posts?
- Answer: Absolutely! On Pleny, you can mention other users by tagging them not just in posts, but also in moments, comments, and even replies. It’s a great way to bring friends into the conversation, give a shoutout, or just make your posts more fun and interactive.
- Question: Can the user search by dietary preferences (vegan, gluten-free, etc.)?
- Answer: Yes, definitely! You can search by dietary preferences right from the main search bar. Just type things like “vegan” or “gluten-free,” and we’ll show you brands, offers, and products that match exactly what you're looking for.
- Question: Can the user see which restaurants are trending this week/month?
- Answer: Yes! If you go to the Restaurants page, you’ll see different filters you can use — like "Trending," "Popular," "Recently Joined," and "Most Followed." These filters help you discover the hottest places based on what’s happening right now, whether it’s this week, this month, or even the newest additions to Pleny.
- Question: Can restaurants reply to comments on their meals or offers?
- Answer: For now, restaurants can reply to comments just like regular users. We're currently developing a dedicated Brand Manager portal that will offer more features for restaurant accounts in the future.

- Answer: The foodies page is a discovery space where you can explore popular posts, trending meals, and content shared by other food lovers. You can access it from the app's main navigation to see what’s buzzing in the foodie community.
- Question: Does Pleny have private groups or direct messaging features?
- Answer: No, Pleny currently does not offer private groups for specific food interests or direct messaging between users. The platform focuses on public sharing and interaction around food experiences.
- Question: Does Pleny have location-based features?
- Answer: You can filter restaurants by the cities where they're available, but Pleny does not currently have GPS-based features that show nearby restaurants based on your exact location.

6. System and Logic
- Question: How does the follower system work on Pleny?
- Answer: On Pleny, you can follow both other foodies (users) and brands (restaurants). Following foodies and brands allows their content to appear in your feed and helps personalize your experience on the platform.
- Question: How does the commenting system work on Pleny?
- Answer: Users can comment on posts made by others, and they can also reply to comments left by other users. This creates interactive conversations around food experiences and allows for community engagement.
- Question: Is there a notification system on Pleny?
- Answer: Yes, Pleny has a notification system that alerts users when someone follows them, likes their posts, or comments on their content. This helps you stay updated on interactions with your profile and content.

- Answer: Pleny offers several discovery features including a foodies page to explore posts from all foodies (even those you don't follow), a restaurants list page, and an offers list page to discover restaurants even if you don't follow them.
- Question: Are there any content moderation policies on Pleny?
- Answer: Yes, Pleny moderates both media and text content according to community rules. Content must be food-related, respectful to others, non-insulting to foodies or restaurants, and free of toxic or adult content. Users should avoid spam, duplicate posts, and fake profiles to maintain an authentic community experience.
- Question: How does the feed algorithm work on Pleny?
- Answer: The feed algorithm on Pleny shows content from users you follow, prioritizing posts based on engagement, recency, and popularity. The feed is personalized to show content from foodies and brands you've chosen to follow.
- Question: How are promotions or Ads created in Pleny ?
- Answer: Promotions and ads on Pleny are created in a couple of ways! Some are automatically generated by our app’s trending engine. For example, if a brand is really popular right now, it might get a “Trending” promotion. When a new brand joins Pleny, we also create "Just Added" or "Just Joined" promotions to introduce them to everyone. On top of that, some promotions are manually created by our marketing team working directly with brands to help them run special campaigns and reach more users.

- Answer: Yes, every offer on Pleny has both a start date and an end date. This way, you always know exactly when an offer becomes available and when it’s going to expire. We make sure all offers stay fresh and relevant.
- Question: Is my data secure on Pleny?
- Answer: Yes, we take your data security very seriously. We’ve built our systems carefully to protect your information, using strong encryption and following strict privacy rules. Plus, we keep everything updated and secure against any hacking attempts or data leaks.

- Question: What are Stories and why should the user use them?
- Answer: Stories are your window into the foodie world! Share your culinary adventures through photos, videos, and GIFs that disappear after 24 hours. It's the perfect way to show off your latest restaurant visit, cooking experiment, or food discovery without cluttering your main feed.
- Question: How can the user create a Story?
- Answer: Simply tap the "+" icon in the Stories section! You can capture a new photo/video with your camera, select from your gallery, or even add a fun GIF. Add text, location tags, and stickers to make it uniquely yours, then hit "Post" to share with your followers.
- Question: Can the user create multiple Stories at once?
- Answer: Absolutely! You can create up to 20 consecutive stories in one session. They'll appear as thumbnails at the bottom, and you can reorder or delete them before publishing all at once. Perfect for sharing your entire dining experience!
- Question: What types of content can the user share in Stories?
- Answer: Stories support everything! Share high-quality photos, up to 60-second videos with audio controls, and animated GIFs. Each story automatically adjusts its timing based on content type.
- Question: Can the user zoom in on photos in Stories?
- Answer: Yes! Stories support zooming and panning for detailed viewing, so your followers can appreciate every delicious detail of your food photos.
- Question: How can the user tag restaurants and brands in his/her Stories?
- Answer: While creating a story, tap the tag option and search for brands, restaurants, or products. You can position tags anywhere on your media, and they become clickable links that take viewers to detailed pages. Perfect for sharing your favorite spots!
- Question: Can the user mention other foodies in his/her Stories?
- Answer: Definitely! Use the @ symbol while adding text to mention other foodies, or use the tagging feature to visually tag friends in your content. They'll get notified and can even repost your story if they're tagged!
- Question: How can people react to the user’s Stories?
- Answer: Viewers can choose from 7 emotion-based reactions (like, love, wow, yum, etc.) by tapping the designated area. You'll see all reactions and can track who reacted to what from your viewer list.
- Question: Who can see the user’s Stories?
- Answer: Your Stories appear to all your followers! They'll see a colorful ring around your profile picture when you have new stories. The ring turns gray once they've viewed everything.
- Question: Can the user see who viewed his/her Stories?
- Answer: Yes! Swipe up or tap the viewers indicator on your own story to see everyone who watched, when they viewed it, and what reactions they left. You can even filter viewers by their reactions!
- Question: What happens to Stories after 24 hours?
- Answer: Stories automatically expire after 24 hours, but don't worry, you can access all your past stories in your personal Archive! Only you can see your archived stories, and you can view them anytime to relive your food memories.
- Question: Can the user repost someone else's Story?
- Answer: If you're tagged in someone's story, you can repost it to your own story with additional text, location tags, and mentions. The original creator gets credit, and it's a great way to share collaborative dining experiences!
- Question: How can the user navigate through Stories?
- Answer: Stories are designed for seamless browsing! Swipe left/right, tap the sides to navigate, hold to pause, and enjoy smooth transitions between different foodies' content. You can exit anytime by swiping down or tapping the X.
- Question: Does the app support Arabic for Stories?
- Answer: Absolutely! The app displays foodie/brand names, UI elements, and story content in Arabic when your language is set to Arabic. The interface flips to right-to-left alignment, and mixed-language content renders perfectly.
- Question: What if the user doesn't have any stories to view?
- Answer: We've got you covered! When no stories are available, you'll see suggested foodies to follow based on your interests. Discover new food creators and expand your culinary network!
- Question: Can the user share Stories outside the app?
- Answer: Yes! Use the share action to send stories through your device's native sharing options like messaging, email, social apps, and more. The shared content maintains proper formatting across platforms.
- Question: How do I manage my privacy with Stories?
- Answer: You have full control! Mute accounts to hide their stories without unfollowing, report inappropriate content, and manage your muted accounts list in Settings. You can even delete your own stories or archived content anytime.

- Answer: Here are some pro tips:
- Use location tags to help others discover great spots

- Question: How do ads work in Stories?
- Answer: You'll see clearly marked "Sponsored" native ads once every 5 stories. They follow the same format as regular stories with all the same controls, so they don't disrupt your viewing experience while helping support the platform.
